2. Overseas Travelers by Age Group

The largest share of the overseas travel market is held by people in their 20s, and was at 21.9% in 2001, but this was actually down 5.8 points on the figure for 5 years before, 27.7%. Conversely, the figures for middle-aged people and senior citizens continue to improve. For instance the overseas travel figures for those in their 50's climbed from 15.6% to 18.8% in 5 years, and for people 60 and over the share rose from 12.0% to 14.5% during the same period.
