12. Average Japan Travel Duration of Foreign Visitors

In 1996, the average number of days spent in Japan by foreign travelers was 8.4. It was 8.6 in 1997, growing to 8.8 in 1998, and it seemed that there was a trend for foreign visitors to stay longer. But then in 1999 it dropped to 8.0 days and stayed at that figure for 2000.
