4. Japanese Overseas Travel Demographics: 2000-2003

In 2000 the number of female travelers exceeded male travelers to the United States, Australia, Italy and Indonesia. With the abolishment in 2001of the "ED Card" used for manually recording tourists departing/entering Japan, it became impossible to obtain a breakdown by destination of the actual number of travelers based on age and sex.
