JATA World Travel Fair 2006 held September 22-24 at Tokyo Big Sight East Exhibition Halls 1-3

JATA World Travel Fair 2006, Asia's largest travel fair, was held over three days from Thursday, September 22 through Saturday, September 24, 2006, at Tokyo Big Sight East Exhibition Halls 1 through 3. The event attracted 106,241 visitors from throughout Japan.
In addition to the themed zones featuring Central Europe, cruise, a gTravel Agents Street,h and gTravel Lectureh, there was a full program of events to enjoy including hotel cuisine food stands, a steady stream of music and dance from around the world, and rich and unique performances on stage and at the booths.




Opening Ceremony and Press Conference Held on September 22 Travel Trade Day"
 Invited guests and attendees from Japan and around the globe gathered at 9:40 a.m. on September 22 for the opening ceremony of JATA World Travel Fair 2006. In honor of the occasion, industry luminaries ascended the stage to break open wooden barrels of sake as part of the traditional Japanese-style gkagamibirakih celebration.
JATA officers, Outbound Travel Committee members, invited guests and other VIPs then toured the booths to exchange greetings with exhibitors.
Shortly thereafter at 10:15 a.m. visitors and guests assembled to watch JATA Vice Chairperson Kogi cut the tape to open this yearfs much anticipated gCentral Europe Zone.h

Booths, events, performances and people from 131 nations and regions! (September 22-24)
 Along with the many booths representing countries and destinations around the world, each year JATA World Travel Fair features various theme zones. This yearfs themed zones showcased Central Europe, cruise, hotel gourmet, gTravel Agents Street,h gTravel Lectureh, UNESCO World Heritage Sites and Japan. Among the many other attractions were various travel-related seminars and symposia and entertainment from around the world on the event stage.
