6月15日(水)、ウェールズ政府、欧州・外務局日本代表事務所のロビン・ウォーカー日本代表がJATA本部を訪問し、旅行市場回復の展望について意見交換されました。

「2019ラグビーワールドカップの影響でウェールズの知名度が高まり、旅行先として候補に入れる人が増えました。自由に国際的な往来が可能となったら、ウェールズ旅行の商品開発、商品販売に役立つ視察ツアー、研修旅行を実施したいと思います。」

志村課長らは、「ウェールズの観光産業は大きな可能性を持っていると考えています。東京と地方都市での観光促進に加えて、セミナーのご参加、視察旅行の企画などが日本の消費者にウェールズのデスティネーションを紹介する良い機会です。」とコメントしました。

Mr. Robin Walker, Senior Representative, Japan Representative Office, European & External Affairs, Welsh Government, visited Headquarters of JATA on June 15th, Wednesday

At the meeting, Mr. Walker talked about the perspectives of travel market recovery.
“The Rugby World Cup 2019 helped to raise public awareness of Wales, more and more Japanese are putting Wales on their shortlist as a travel destination. When borders will be completely opened, we consider organizing study and inspection tours to Wales. We hope it will help to develop the new attractive tourism products.”

“Wales has great potential in the tourism industry. Seminars and other promotional activities in Tokyo and regional centers will be a good opportunity to show it as a tourist destination for the Japanese consumers,” commented Mr. Tadashi Shimura, President of JATA.
