4月15日(木)、駐日キプロス共和国大使ハリス・モリチス閣下がJATA志村理事長を訪問し、コロナ禍後の海外旅行再開に向けた準備について意見交換されました。「コロナ禍が収束したら、日本市場に注力したいと思います。旅行再開の時に備え、セミナーや旅行業界のイベント等に参加したいと思います。また、日本市場向けのキプロスへの英語学習ツアーも展開する予定です」

志村理事長は、「キプロスには、日本の海外旅行者にアピールできる素晴らしい観光施設と世界遺産があり、古代ギリシャの文化は日本人にとってとても魅力的です。JATAは今年もツーリズムEXPOジャパンを開催する予定で、日本の旅行業界や一般消費者と交流する絶好の機会となると思いますので、出展をご検討ください」と応じられました。

H.E. Mr. Charis Moritsis, Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus in Japan, visited Mr. Tadashi Shimura, President of JATA, on April 15th, Thursday

During the meeting Ambassador Moritsis shared his opinion about the promotion of Cyprus in Japan during and after the pandemic. “We want to focus on the Japanese market once the pandemic is over. Our embassy will start promoting Cyprus in preparation for the time when travel is possible again. We will be participating in events which promote Cyprus as a destination in Japan. In addition, I believe that we can develop English study tours to Cyprus for the Japanese market, too.

“Cyprus has excellent tourism facilities and world heritage sites which appeal to the Japanese overseas travelers. Your culture is very attractive to Japanese people. While the pandemic has disrupted the industry, JATA is going to hold Tourism EXPO Japan this year again. It will be a great opportunity to interact with the Japanese travel industry and potential travelers. We would
